When you have received the offer letter and contract from your future employer the idea of resigning can be daunting for some people. Just remind yourself of exactly why you decided to leave your current employment and look for a new job.
It can be a great deal of hassle for an employer to find a replacement when somebody resigns. Occasionally employers make a counter offer to avoid finding a replacement. You must ask yourself why it has taken you to resign in order for your employer to recognise your worth.
Those that accept a counter offer tend to start looking again for a new job in three to six months because their motivation for moving on wasn’t just about the money. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and it would be shame for you to be faced with the prospect again of searching for your next career move when you could have already been six months into your new career.
